Our client is seeking to recruit a Staff Senior Drilling Engineer.

Job Description:
We are looking for a Staff Senior Drilling Engineer to work in Norway (Norway resident or willing to accept local contract in Norway). Candidates are sought who are genuinely interested in a long term commitment to working for the operator

Initially work will be a 10 well project - 2/3 years preparation and 2/3 years drilling operations – in a Norwegian sector development (HP/HT) with move to other projects in Norway or overseas eventually. Ideal candidate will have already progressed to the level of Senior Drilling Engineer with an operator.

Candidates should have operator experience with floating rigs and HP / HT and should have an engineering degree.

Duties will include preparing technical spec for rig and services, conducting tender exercise for rig and services, tender evaluation and contract award, well design, well planning, operations support.

Target start date 1st September 2010 or earlier .

The role will involve:
Liaise with other group entities for studies, engineering input and details required for preparation of drilling programme and plans.
Prepare HP/HT procedures for semi-submersible drilling operations.
Assist in preparation of master drilling program including P/A program
Assist in preparation of drilling and abandonment operational procedures and guidelines
Assist in preparation of contingency plans
Assist in preparation of operational time planner for drilling operations
Assist in preparation of third party service contract technical specifications
Assist in technical and commercial evaluation of call for tenders
Assist in preparation of application for consent, application for discharge permit, blow out contingency plan, relief well program etc..
Participate in tabletop drills and Hazid/Hazop meetings.
Liaise between third party service contractors during planning
Participate in post operational debriefs and preparation of lessons learned reports, benchmarking and return of experience to our clientsl headquarters.
Write equipment and procedural evaluation reports
Aid in preparation of end of well reports
Assist in preparation of derogations and non-conformances to group and government rules and regulations
During operations, assist Drilling Superintendent or Operations Section Head as required for any specific engineering study and/or contingency program preparation.
