Our client is seeking to recruit a Lead Well Engineer.
Location: Stavanger, Norway
Work Schedule: Staff
Duration: Permanent

Job Description:
Ensure that the drilling operations are carried out in a safe manner and that well objectives are
achieved on time within budget, and without any adverse effect on the environment.
Ensure that all well operations are planned and performed in compliance with the approved Norwegian Policies. These include, but are not limited to, directives/policy on business ethics, security, health, safety and the environment.
Provide engineering support for drilling contracting activities. Prepare Technical Scopes of Work for third party services and driling service contracts in line with the tendering strategy.
Work with the project and sub-surface teams to prepare all drilling programs, consents and notifications in compliance with Government legislative requirements.
Carry out the technical evaluation of third party services and service contract tenders in line with the tendering strategy.
Carry out the necessary engineering calculations and studies to ensure that the well designs achieve the well objectives in the most efficient manner whilst ensuring that the risks of unplanned release of fluids from the well are ALARP.
Make continuous efforts to improve drilling performance to top quartile level by well researched applications of new tools and techniques.
Prepare probabilistic well time estimates for AFE generation purposes.
Maintain close liaison with sub-surface specialists to ensure alignment of operational objectives.
Document the Well design and ensure that Design Reviews are carried out.
Provide drilling engineering & Operational support to the Well Team Leaders during operations on assigned wells. Attend the morning call to the rig to discuss the days planned activities and to discuss the conditions encountered in the well and prepare revisions to the completion design or programme and procedures that may result.
Where material changes to the plan are required, prepare written amendments to the programme and gain dispensation from the relevant authority when appropriate.
Responsible for quality assurance of subordinate drilling engineers technical work including ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements:

Relevant degree (MSc Petroleum, Mechanical or Mining Engineering preferred)
Sufficient relevant industry experience including both Onshore work & offshore supervision, well
engineering design and drilling operations support in land, platform and subsea operations.
Experience in North Sea (Norway & UK sectors) Drilling, completion & testing operations
Have sufficient understanding of risk management and mitigation and profit and Loss understanding, preferably in multi-disciple operations.
Demonstarte good leadership skills in operational and HSSE performance
Qualifications and skills:
