Job Description:
To provide health and safety discipline expertise to the project development team, identifying and defining standards and procedures according to international best practices, Company guidelines, local and international regulations during the various project phases, plus auditing and monitoring contractor designs and activities. To identify and assess health and safety risks of all job types involved in drilling and construction and other operational activities and recommend any remedial control measures necessary to reduce these risks to as low as reasonably practicable.
The role will involve:
Participating surveys/assessments to verify that industrial hygiene conditions of all project locations and premises are in compliance with HSE requirements and associated standards. Participating in both internal and external HSE Audits in the capacity of Safety Specialist. Preparing (as an individual task or in a team) specific technical reporting of the above surveys/assessments and audits. Conducting Safety Risk Assessment of all job types in line with Safety Risk Assessment procedure and good safety practice. Identifying workplace hazards (chemical, physical, biological and ergonomic) and assess health and safety risks for identified job types associated directly or indirectly with operations. Assessing any potential social/community health issues/impacts associated with project operations. Using the Risk Assessment Matrix to rank identified potential risks. Making recommendations in respect of controlling exposure by engineering means as well as procedural and personal protective equipment requirements.
Job Requirements:
Engineering degree Accreditation in HSE Codes and Standards Technical qualification relevant to petrochemical industry - recognized Occupational Hygiene qualification and professional affiliation - proven experience in theoretical and practical aspects of occupational hygiene, including taking relevant readings and measurements. Previous experience of onshore and offshore operations. Fluent knowledge of English Oil & Gas Industry experience HSE practice experience
