Work Schedule: Contract

Duration: 12 months with possibility to extend No. of hours/day: 8 hours/day No. of days/week: 5 days/week Required start date: 1st August 2010

Job Description:

The Phase 1 development will produce hydrocarbon fluids from five core offshore fields - Initially, the development will focus production from three of these fields,providing later life backfill. It is currently envisaged that first gas will be realised by the end of 3Q, 2014.

The Phase 1 development will require up to 25 subsea wells, located in water depths ranging from 350 to 750m water depth and up to 80 km offshore. The wells will be tied back to subsea manifolds before flowing to shore through a three multiphase gathering and trunkline systems. 17 of the wells are lower pressure, shallow (5 kpsi, <2000m TVD) design, and 8 of the wells are near-HPHT(10kpsi, <4600m TVD).

Candidate provides Drilling Engineering knowledge/expertise and input in support of the offshore gas Development. This position will be located London England. The position reports to the Drilling Engineering Manager of the Occasional travel to Cairo may be required as part of this role.

The role will involve:

Support Consistency of content and format for all drilling engineering deliverables.
Input to Basis of Designs and Cost Estimates.
Inclusion of Well Intervention and Integrity Considerations.
Risk Identification and Management
Benchmarking performance assumptions
Long Lead equipment and Tender Scope of Work is developed and procured in a timely manner
Equipment supplier review and assurance is delivered on time
Acting as Interface for joint deliverables and developing working relationships with Subsurface, Subsea and Project Management/Services Teams

Job Requirements:

Solid Drilling Engineering background
Excellent communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment;
Education: University degree required
Certification: IWCF well control
Languages needed: Fluent in English
